Before your first appointment
A lot of guests ask whether there's anything specific to take care of before their first session. The honest answer: not really. You come, we take care of you. If you'd like a sense of what to expect anyway, we've collected the most common questions below.
What about eating before the appointment?
Many guests find a heavy meal directly before treatment uncomfortable, especially when lying on the stomach and during stretches. A lighter meal or a snack one to two hours earlier works well for most people. Coming on an empty stomach is also fine. You know your body best.
What should I wear?
For traditional Thai massage you have a choice: stay in loose, comfortable clothing, or undress and be covered with towels. If you wish to stay dressed, comfortable, stretchy clothing is practical. For aromatic oil massage you undress to your underwear; a soft cloth keeps you covered throughout the session.
What about jewellery and long hair?
Many guests prefer to take off rings, chains, bracelets and watches before treatment, since they can press in during pressure and stretching work. Long hair is more comfortable tied back, especially if you have chosen an aromatic oil massage.
Anything I should bring?
Essentially nothing. A change of clothes isn't needed, and a small pouch for valuables is enough.
How early should I arrive?
A few minutes before your appointment is pleasant, so you can settle in calmly. If you have wishes or anything to share with us, please mention it before the session begins.
Health notes
Certain conditions either rule out Thai massage or call for an adapted treatment. These include pregnancy (especially in the first trimester), fever or acute infections, active inflammation, recent injuries or surgery, thrombosis, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, cancer, or acute disc problems. If any of these apply to you, a short note at booking is appreciated. We then discuss together what fits. For questions, reach us on +49 89 926 585 60.
Mental preparation
There's nothing to "perform". A Thai massage is a physical treatment, not a ritual. What helps is the willingness to take 60, 90 or 120 minutes for yourself. The rest is on us.
After the session
Some guests find jumping straight back into daily life after a Thai massage abrupt. A small buffer afterwards tends to feel good, but it isn't required. You decide what works for you after the appointment.
