Traditional Thai Massage in Munich
Traditional Thai massage with targeted pressure-point technique, passive stretching and steady, even pressure.
About the Traditional Thai Massage
Traditional Thai massage, known in Thailand as Nuad Phaen Boran, looks back on a centuries-old tradition. Its mythical roots reach to the legendary doctor Shivago Komarpaj, a contemporary of the Buddha around 2,500 years ago. The origins lie in Indian Ayurveda and yoga. At the Wat Pho temple in Bangkok it has been systematically documented and taught since the 19th century. At Sala Thai Massage & Spa we work according to this traditional system: without oil, on a treatment table, in clothing or covered with towels — as you prefer.
Who is Thai massage suitable for?
Traditional Thai massage suits people looking for a firm, full-body treatment that goes beyond a purely gentle approach. It is particularly appreciated by:
- People with tension in the neck and shoulder area from office and screen work
- Sports-active people who want to loosen muscle chains and maintain mobility
- Stressed everyday people seeking physical and mental balance
- Guests who want to experience Thai massage in its original form
Anyone who prefers a purely passive, gentle treatment may be better off with our aromatic oil massage.
Treatment flow
If you have wishes or anything to share with us, please tell us before the session begins. You have a choice: stay in loose, comfortable clothing, or undress and be covered with towels.
The work follows the ten main energy lines (ten main energy lines), the energy lines of the Thai tradition. Your massage therapist uses thumbs, palms, forearms, elbows, knees and feet to work rhythmically along these lines. Pressure is combined with passive stretches reminiscent of yoga positions, opening the joints.
The classic flow begins at the feet and moves over legs, back and arms up to the neck and head. The intensity rises progressively. You always have a say in how deep the work goes. Good Thai massage thrives on dialogue.
Well-being and body awareness
Many guests describe a feeling of loosened body, clearer thoughts and released posture after a session.
Traditionally, Thai massage is understood as physical meditation, both for the massage therapist and the guest. In a world full of sedentary screen work, it offers a concrete counterpoint: active body awareness, conscious breathing, and the reminder that the body is made for movement.
A slight muscle after-effect in the first 24 to 48 hours is possible and normal, especially after the first session.
Important: Thai massage is a wellness application, not a medical treatment. In pregnancy, especially in the first trimester, as well as in case of acute infections or fever, acute inflammations, fresh injuries or operations, thrombosis, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, cancer, or acute disc problems, please consult us and your doctor in advance.
